I had to leave my house this morning while my house was being shown, so I went over to the Danville Library and sketched a few things.

Sketches - San Diego

I few other sketches I did during the weekend.

A few people at a taqueria for breakfast. I notice that alot of other people are drawing in the kitchen of the table, but I find it very difficult as I'm worried I'm going to get food all over my book.

A couple of guys on the bus to the zoo. The guy with glass is all wrong, but he was the only guy sitting still when I got on. the smaller guy is much better and was actually on the bus on my way back into town.

In addition to hosting the San Diego Zoo there are tons of places to sketch, Unfortunately I only had a half day at the park and really wanted to check out the animals.

San Diego Zoo

Before the WBC final on Monday I went to the San Diego Zoo. With the express interest of doing some sketching.

Tortoises move quicker than I thought. They are fascinating and everytime I see them I think of Darwin.

I was most excited to draw Rhinos, Elephants and Gorillas. The Gorillas were very popular and uncooperative, but the Rhino was relatively alone. Unfortunatley most of the time I could only see his back, but he did lift his head a few times.

The Elephants were fantastic and very active, almost too active. But I think these are my best sketches from the whole weekend.

The Polar Bear and the some of the indoor reptile boxes. The lighting really caught me on the reptiles, but I don't think I captured that here.

WBC in San Diego

WBC Logo

I went down to the World Baseball Classic final round this last weekend in San Diego. This is the first year of this World Cup type event. It was put on to raise international awareness of baseball. With the hope of expanding the baseball market and gaining support to get baseball back into the Olympics.

The first Semi-Final game on Saturday at noon was the Dominican Republic hosting Cuba. Cuba won 3 to 1

The second Semi-Final game on Saturday at 7pm was South Korea hosting Japan. Japan won 6 to 0
